Dinners
For Derek
March 10, 2008
It was a very special
night at Super Suppers in Urbandale on Monday, March
10, 2008. A group of Castaways got together to show
their support for two of our members, Kory and Michelle,
and their children Derek and Jenna. Derek was diagnosed
with a brain tumor last November and to help out, we
decided to provide the family with some donated meals.
We asked Super Suppers to help and they stepped up by
donating a meal for each person or couple that booked
with our group. Kory and Michelle were on hand to help
prepare the meals with the rest of the group. With Mile
Marker 24 and other tropical music playing in the background
and refreshments and snacks being served, we put on our
aprons over our tropical Coconut Castaways clothing and turned
the night into a fun cooking adventure! Need proof?
We even had a few couples
who could not make it that evening, but generously donated
all their meals to Michelle and Kory. Thank you to Super
Suppers for their generous meal donations and thank you
to all the participants who donated meals, too! Click
